GNU Emacs 22.1.1, Ubuntu 8.04 LTS.

PG startup crashes: File mode specification error: (void-function declare-function)

Thanks. I have added a compatibility patch for this but notice from COMPATIBILITY that I am not testing as far back as 22.1. I hope 22.2 will be OK (in Ubuntu 9.04) and presumably emacs-snapshot is available on 8.04.
