This is GNU Emacs 22.1.1 on Cygwin.

Here startup fails: Cannot open load file: easymenu

Thanks for the report: it sounds like your Emacs package is broken. Unfortunately Emacs distribution beyond our control. If easymenu is indeed missing from that build, I believe several other packages will fail besides PG.
